Polhem PR Press Day SS 2018

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your week is going amazing!
Last week I stopped by the Polhem PR's showroom to check out the collections for this spring and summer and wanted to share some pictures with you. We were introduced to many new products from a big variety of brands in the fashion, beauty as well as lifestyle industry.

There were fashion pieces from Craftory, River Island, OneWolf, Save My Bag and also brands like Guess, Victoria Beckham and others from Stockmann's women's department and lifestyle pieces from the home department in Stockmann.

Most of the products were however beauty and make-up related. New pieces and collections from LushOriflame and Dior, but I was also introduced to London Labs hair products and It's Skin, a skincare brand from which I personally had not heard about before, but it's Korean, so you know it's good.

My favourite pieces this time around were a tweed jacket from River Island (here) and as a big fan of cardholders instead of wallets, I loved the camel "slim pouchie" from Craftory. I've also already tried out some of It's Skin masks, and they are just amazing!

Also would looove to try out Dior's skincare and makeup- they came out with a new collection called "Capture Youth" which included a number of serums as well as a face cream and they honestly felt amazing, especially the "Glow Booster"and "Plump Filler" and also they are super pretty to look at. Would not mind having one or two on my bathroom counter at all..

This is it for this time, talk soon!

Happy Tuesday everyone. Last Saturday I met up with Mai for some lunch. We went to Carmen Cafe in Rotermann and since it is so cold outside, we thought we'd just take the pictures there. It is a really photogenic cafe, I must admit and the food is absolutely delicious - I got a chicken (and something..) panini as well as some fresh mint tee. A great lunch spot!
I luckily managed to squeeze in a salon visit on Friday, so I got to take the photos with a new fresh haircut. I also filmed a bit of the process in the salon, so you will be able to see a video soon as well. :)

I went for quite a casual look with some H&M straight cut jeans and a camel ribbed top. But the true star here is the oversixed red coat. I've been wearing it almost every single day in the past weeks. I first saw this in spring 2017 at Mango's website, and almost bought it when it was on sale in the Summer, but for some reason talked myself out of it (probably since the weather was not exactly right for it yet).. But then it was just gone- it wasn't on their website nor in their outlet, so I was really bummed. I finally found it again on their outlet site in December and bought it then and there. So in case the same thing happens to you, always try looking on their outlet site for older items as well as some great sales!

Happy new year, guys!

The holidays are  over and so is the year. Cannot believe how fast it has gone by.

A new year is kind of a new page, a fresh start, and at the end of every year, like most of us, I try to analyse how the year turned out, so I can make sure to do everything in my power to make the next year even better. Was the past year everything I hoped it would be? It honestly never is for me, as in some aspecs of life we win, in others we might lose, and even though it might hurt and it might be dissapointing, I have learnt that it is completely fine and actually unavoidable.

I believe sometimes when we live our day-to-day lives, we feel like we are not achieving anything if the day before was not much different from today. We want changes to happen overnight and get frustrated, if they don't. We don't really notice all of the changes we've made and challenges we've overcome... but it we widen the scope..

When I think back on 2017, I am actually surprised on how many big changes I've faced. I can say in all honesty, that this year I've focused more on my career and less on relationships. At the start of the year, I got a new job. In the beginning of December I changed jobs again, however still remaining in the same company, just moving to a different department and job role- a level up, I'd say. I'm supposedly also the youngest person in my department, so that is pretty cool. I ended my relationship of 6 years, still managing to remain friends with the person, and I also got my first rental apartment and am living completely alone for the first time ever! These are all quite big changes I would say!

Even though there were quite good, life-changing, things happening in 2017, there were still many unfortunate things that happened and also some things I wanted to achieve, but didn't - like graduating uni, getting my driver's licence, travelling and being more active on my blog and other social media outlets, so I guess 2018 has to be the year for all of that! I've also felt more lost in myself this year than ever before. I've been trying to get back the aspects of me I've been quietly losing over the past years. I think so many of us face the same issue, especially after going though a break-up.

However, I believe that if the place I am today is better than last year, I can consider the year an overall success, and I do believe, that I am a little bit happier with where I am in my life today, than where I was a year ago.

This year I'm making sure to stay humble and grateful for all that I have. Trying new things, keeping a goal in sight and always going one step closer to achieving my dreams. I am young, there are so many things I want to achieve in life and things I want to experience, so what better time to do it then now!?

How was your year? What are you most excited about in 2018?

Here are some of the pictures I shot with my sister while back home. I guess you can all figure out the reason, or at least one of the reasons, why I fell ill a few days later.. It is so clear that I just cannot accept the climate I live in, need some sun and palmtrees asap!
I'm wearing my houndstooth blazer from H&M. This blazer is pretty much sold out already, but there are tons of similar ones around. As a huge fan of oversized blazers, I obviously got a bigger size in this one as well. There is not much going on in this outfit colour-wise, so I'm adding a little some-some with the printed tee, distressed jeans and gold details.
