. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I wanted to share with you the products I've been using lately for my makeup base. They are from MAC and I am pretty sure all of you know the products, however some more, some less... so I will tell you about them a little and what my experience with them has been so far.

I've had the one in the front - Studio Finish Concealer for a while now and in that time we have had a real love-hate relationship, however luckily now we are in good terms again. The reason why the relationship is what it is, is because it's consistance and my lack of experience with that kind of products. It has a thick consistency and therefore needs an appropriate brush - not using my fingers any longer. I've found that the Detailer Brush from the RT The Core collection works well with this - it is a bit small, but the hardness is good. I just take a bit of the product on the tip of the brush and dab it to where I need it, then using sweeping motions, I blend out the edges.

The back right one, Pro Longwear Concealer, is in a shade lighter than previous concealer and I use this one under my eyes, on the bridge of the nose and basically everywhere on my face I want to highlight or lighten the shadows. At first I used to blend and apply it with the beauty blender, but I was not happy with the result, as it was a pretty thick layer. Then I tryed the Seventeen Eyeshadow Brush (which is so random in my makeup bag and was just sitting there pointlessly) and I enjoyed the result so much more.

Last one, Face and Body Foundation is the most recent purchase and therefore I haven't had as much time to experiment with the application and brushes. I know that Mac has 2 good brushes for that product, but right now I am using my RT Buffing Brush, which is completely wrong hardness and shape, but somehow works surprisingly alright. I will do some more research and purchase a proper brush.. someday. About the product itself now. I am very happy with it so far, it is exactly what I wanted. This product is water-based, so it's good for the dryer skintypes, which was one of the reasons I bought it. The other was, that I didn't want to wear a ton of foundation on my face (I was using the L'oreal Lumi Magique foundation, which is also a very good product.. and cheap..., however it didn't fulfill my wishes). Using a Beauty Blender with this foundation is completely pointless as it absorbs so much product you'll hit the bottom quick. However, applying and blending it with a brush (synthetic one) is perfect. True - being water-based means it is light coverage, however still buildable by applying multiple layers. It evens out the skintone well and leaves the skin looking more natural, than when using a medium or full coverage foundations. I would recommend this product for those who use foundations to even out the skin, not change the colour of the face (e.g self-tanning people).

Hope you enjoyed this little insight to my makeup again and you can find all of the brushes I talkes about in THIS post.
